Notes

This setting of the Passion is intended for liturgical use during the Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday.  The music uses the traditional chant for reciting the Passion with choruses based on music by William Byrd.  This has been arranged for a 2 part choir enabling it to be performed by amateur parish choirs.

The narrator should be someone with a strong voice who can keep the piece in tune!  Other parts should be sung by choir members.  The part of Jesus (Christus) is usually sung by a priest of deacon.
