Notes

My intention is that these Marian Motets should be easily performed by both professional and amateur choirs alike. As a minimum they may be performed by a solo quartet of singers. The five Motets are: Alma Redemptoris Mater, Ave Maria, Ave Regina, Salve Regina and Regina Caeli. These pieces have already been performed in numerous places in the UK and USA.

Review

Regina Caeli has been reviewed by ScorchMusic.com

"Regina Caeli - a bouncy catchy number"
A bouncy, catchy rhythmic figure characterises this motet, voices entering in turn in parallel organum-style harmonies. In a clever rhythmic twist the plainsong melody becomes intertwined with this figure. This is an appealing and effective piece which works well in performance. While it would need good clear singing, it is not unapproachable in terms of difficulty, provided there is confidence with rhythm... (Hannah Bell, 2001)

Five Marian Motets are also included on our CD, Regina Caeli, and may be listened to in MP3 format by clicking on the links below. [NB Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, downloading the mp3 files may take up to 1 minute - your patience will be rewarded!]
