Notes

In contrast to all our other publications which are primarily designed for the Roman Catholic liturgy, this is a setting of the canticles for Anglican Evensong, a Magnificat, Nunc Dimittis and Preces & Responses.  The two canticles for use in the Roman liturgy for Vespers and Compline may, of course, be sung independently.  The chromatic nature of this pieces require a choir of reasonable competence to perform them.

The Evening Service was first performed in Canterbury Cathedral on 2nd April 1997 by the Oriel Singers, conducted by Tim Morris, and is affectionately dedictated to them.
